Imbros Gorge Walk – Visit to the South Coast
Private Tour – Chania 9
At the Askifou Plateau, just below the mountain village of Imbros, starts the 8km long trail passing through the Imbros gorge, offering a fantastic hiking experience! The gorge has impressive “gates” and the narrowest spot in the gorge is only 2 meters wide. The path is stony though the walk is not particularly difficult and never steep. The average walking time is 2 – 3 hours. The Imbros canyon runs parallel to the Samaria gorge and is shorter however also very impressive with some spectacular sections and beautiful wild nature. Therefore it is a great hiking opportunity to clients who want to experience a gorge-walk, but prefer a shorter distance. Afterwards you will enjoy a nice swim at the clear, cool water of the Libyan Sea at the southcoast of Crete!
A good health & shape and appropriate walking shoes are required!
